Birds of Prey

In 1989 Henry S. Carson wrote an article on the Spruce Grouse for the Maine Nature Series. He states: “Spruce Grouse are very tame, and it is usually possible to walk with in 20 feet of one before it flushes or walks away.” Henry S. Carson would have you believe that the Spruce Grouse is as lovable and domesticated as your family pet. Henry S. Carson is wrong and Kyle and I have the footage to prove it.  Check out the video below to see how Kyle and I handled our first ever animal attack.  And please note how bravely Kyle defended me…

  1. A loon flew out of the trees at us. It actually didn’t come that close but it was so sudden and loud it scared the crap out of us

  2. Linz, usually the one in the back is the one that get’s eaten by the predator. The slower, weaker, camera operator. Give Kyle the camera, especially when the bear attacks.
